As of Sunday, June 29, applicants must have the newly introduced Personal Number in order to complete the process of getting a new police-issued identity card.

According to a Hellenic Police announcement, the only exception from this rule is for individuals that have initiated the issue of a Personal Number but for whom the process has not yet been completed, through no fault of their own.
