Reprimand and a 50% reduction in monthly compensation.

Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, issued a reprimand from the parliamentary podium against NIKI party MP Nikos Papadopoulos for his involvement in the vandalism of exhibits at the National Gallery.

Based on a relevant article of the Parliament's Rules of Procedure, Kaklamanis imposed a 50% reduction in the MP’s monthly compensation. The decision was unanimously approved by the Plenary of the Parliament.

Addressing the chamber, Kaklamanis reminded MPs that before the 2023 amendment to the Rules of Procedure, the automatic salary reduction for a reprimand due to un-parliamentary behavior was limited to 25% of the MP's monthly compensation.
