PASOK-KINAL: Greek-Turkish relations too serious to be used for PR reasons

Greek-Turkish relations "cannot be used as a communications opportunity or [an electoral campaign trick; they require seriousness, national strategy and long-term planning," PASOK-Movement for Change (KINAL) commented, referring to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu's latest statements.
PASOK also criticised Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, who spoke of "an excellent climate in Greek-Turkish relations" while proposing "a change in the framework of exploratory talks for the resolution of the continental shelf issue".
In its statement, the opposition party also added that the Turkish Foreign Minister's statements, who again raised the issue of the sovereignty of the Aegean islands and seeks negotiation on a 'package' of issues before taking recourse to the International Court of the Hague "on all issues", prove once again that the government relies on a "wait-and-see" strategy.
