Parliament police officer arrested for threats against ex-wife
A 38-year-old police officer serving in the Parliament was arrested on Saturday for threats against his ex-wife.
According to reports, the woman filed a police complaint, stating that the officer had threatened her over the phone.
Furthermore, she reportedly testified that the man physically assaulted her in 2019, resulting in injuries, while they were still married.
When asked by the police if she wanted to be transferred to a shelter following her complaint, she declined, but agreed to have the “panic button” app installed on her phone.
The police officer has been placed on administrative leave.
This is the second incident of domestic violence involving a police officer serving in the Greek Parliament, following the arrest of another officer last November, who was accused of raping his children and wife.
