Over 700 incidents of domestic violence last year in Epirus

In Epirus (northwestern Greece), in 2024 alone, 704 cases of domestic violence were recorded, according to police data. 

Accordign to ERT, this means that almost two incidents a day reach the authorities, although it is considered certain that the actual number of incidents is much higher.

Of these, 286 incidents were reported in Ioannina, 180 in Arta, 102 in Thesprotia and 136 in Preveza.

A total of 572 arrests were made for the incidents of domestic violence reported to the National Police in Epirus.
