One dead, two injured in fiery crash on Olympia odos motorway

A fatal collision on the Olympia Odos motorway Thursday evening left one man dead and two others injured, authorities confirmed.

The accident occurred near Panagopoula in the northern Peloponnese, when a car attempting to overtake a farming vehicle struck it while merging back into the lane. The impact caused the car to burst into flames.

According to state broadcaster ERT, the driver of the car was pulled from the wreckage in a charred condition and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two individuals in the farming vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The crash took place on the westbound side of the motorway toward Patra. An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway.
