Member of the Şahinler crime organization arrested in Greece

E.K., who had been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison in 2017 in a case involving the "Şahinler" and "Sarallar" crime groups, had managed to evade capture. He was caught with a fake Italian driver's license and ID. During a search of his residence, an unlicensed firearm and a large number of bullets were found.
E.K., who had been living a lavish lifestyle in various European countries under this false identity, is easily recognized by his tattoo of Sedat Şahin. After his arrest on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and forgery, Greece's intelligence agency (EYP) was put on alert.
Authorities are investigating why E.K. was in Chios and who he had been in contact with. They are also examining possible links to the killing of six Turkish citizens in Loutsa last September and a murder in Piraeus.
