Greek police have uncovered a massive arsenal of weapons in the home of a 42-year-old man in Hania, Crete, following a series of violent threats he allegedly made on social media against law enforcement officers.

Authorities raided the suspect’s residence after monitoring alarming Facebook posts in which he reportedly urged his followers to “shoot police on sight,” according to local outlet Creta Live.

The suspect has been arrested and faces multiple charges, including incitement to violence, illegal weapons possession, and possible violations of anti-terrorism laws.

Alarming Arsenal

During the search, police discovered a disturbing collection of weapons, including: 107 axes, 166 combat knives, 24 machetes, sticks of dynamite, high-powered air rifles, crossbows, blow guns, bows and arrows, dozens of batons and baseball bats.

Four computers were also confiscated and are currently being analyzed for evidence of further extremist or violent activity.

Investigation Ongoing

Authorities are working to determine whether the weapons were intended for personal use, distribution, or organized violence. The incident has sparked concern among local residents and renewed calls for stricter monitoring of online hate speech and threats.

The case comes amid broader efforts by Greek authorities to crack down on radicalized individuals and extremist rhetoric, particularly those who use social media to promote violence.
