A 60-year-old man from North Macedonia has been arrested in the city of Katerini on an outstanding European arrest warrant, Greek authorities announced on Monday.
A 60-year-old man from North Macedonia has been arrested in the city of Katerini on an outstanding European arrest warrant, Greek authorities announced on Monday.
He had been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by a court in North Macedonia in 1998 for a murder he had committed 28 years ago in the neighbouring country.
According to AMNA, the 60-year-old had apparently fled abroad and lived for many years in Turkiye and Bulgaria, according to judicial sources.
He is being led before the Thessaloniki Appeals Prosecutor to initiate the procedures for his extradition.
