Karagiannis: A proportional charge is coming to all tolls!

The Deputy Minister of Infrastructure stated that "in the next period there will be announcements regarding the plan for proportional charging on the country's highways".
Regarding the reduction of tolls on Attiki Odos as well as the planned proportional toll charging, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, responsible for infrastructure, Mr. Giorgos announced that "in the next period there will be announcements regarding the plan for proportional charge on the country's highways", in an interview with the Open television station.
"The government has decided that Attica Odos is an important highway and the toll should be reduced. This decision is part of the effort being made to deal with the cost of living as the government deals responsibly and consistently with the issues that concern the citizen", stressed Mr. Karagiannis.
As the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure explained "Οnce the current Attica Road concession contract ends, in October 2024, tolls will be reduced to 2.50 euros per crossing".
Regarding the tolls on the rest of the highways, Mr. Karagiannis said that "where we are given the opportunity to make a reduction, where we can hold them back, we are in constant contact - negotiation with the concessionaires".
He announced, in fact, that "in the next period there will be announcements regarding the plan for proportional charging on the country's highways".
