The Grand Masonic Lodge building in Athens, the capital of Greece, was attacked with an improvised explosive device (IED). As a result of the attack, fire broke out and damage occurred. As a result of the investigation, a second suspicious box was found and detonated in a controlled manner. A detailed investigation was initiated at the scene.

In the news of Greek State Television (ERT), it was stated that an IED attack was organised in front of the Grand Masonic Lodge building in the capital Athens at 06.30 local time.

It was reported that the attackers telephoned and reported that "there would be an explosion", but the IED exploded before the experts arrived at the scene.

The fire brigade intervened in the fire caused by the explosion.

No one was killed or injured in the incident, but there was damage.

After the investigation, a second suspicious box was found inside the building. The box was detonated in a controlled manner by bomb disposal teams.

The area where the explosion occurred was closed to traffic and a detailed investigation was initiated.
