An officer of the Hellenic Air Force arrested on suspicion of espionage completed his testimony before an examining magistrate at an Air Force court martial in Athens on Friday, judicial sources said.
The wing commander, who arrived at the court under military escort at around 10:00 a.m., will remain in custody until Tuesday, when he is scheduled to testify before a military prosecutor.
In a statement issued after the hearing, the officer’s lawyer said his client was calm and cooperative throughout the process.
The officer is accused of collecting and transmitting classified military information to third parties, actions that prosecutors say could have harmed national interests.
