The decision was announced by the spokesperson of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lana Zohiu, during a briefing with diplomatic correspondents.

According to Zohiu, the relocation was prompted by concerns over the deteriorating security environment following military strikes carried out by United States and Israel against targets in Iran.

“Taking into account the worsening situation in the region and after evaluating security conditions, it was decided that our embassy in Tehran will be relocated to the Azerbaijani capital, Baku,” Zohiu said during the briefing.

The move reflects growing diplomatic caution among countries operating missions in Iran amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
