Four regions on Red Alert as severe weather approaches

The General Secretariat for Civil Protection has issued a Red Code alert for the Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Greece, and the Peloponnese, including all municipalities within these regions, from Wednesday through Friday.

The decision follows an upgrade to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service’s (HNMS) Hazardous Weather Bulletin and a recommendation from the Risk Assessment Committee.
Officials from the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection have indicated that additional regions may also be placed under Red Code alert on Wednesday, depending on the evolving weather conditions.
Authorities urge residents to take necessary precautions and stay updated with official advisories.
