Firefighters tackle thirty-three fires across Greece
Firefighters are currently addressing thirty-three fires across Greece. From Tuesday afternoon at 18:00 to Wednesday at 18:00, thirty-three agricultural and forest fires were reported.
Immediate action was taken on twenty-five incidents with firefighting efforts ongoing for the remaining eight.
Firefighters are actively engaged in extinguishing a fire in a forest area near residential zones in Orthovouni, Kalambaka. At 17:22, a 112 emergency message advised residents to evacuate from Orthovouni to Trigona.
The operation involves 72 firefighters, including three forestry teams, supported by nineteen vehicles, five aircraft, and three helicopters.
Furthermore, a fire is reported in the Oraiokastro Forest of Thessaloniki, affecting agricultural lands amid strong winds. Operations include twenty firefighters, eight vehicles and one helicopter.
