Evrim Kaşıkçı performs Turkish-Greek concert on Thassos Island

Dr. Evrim Kaşıkçı, an accordion artist and academic at Trakya University’s Balkan Research Institute, as well as the Editor-in-Chief of Trakya University Radio, gave a special performance on Friday, May 31, during a Turkish-Greek concert held on Thassos Island.
The concert, hosted by the Eastern Macedonia Conservatory and the Minimax Band, took place in a historic building at the Thassos Port, showcasing a remarkable example of Turkish-Greek cultural cooperation.
Attendees included Türkiye’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, his wife İlayda Ünal, and numerous music enthusiasts from both countries.
Performing pieces in both Turkish and Greek, Kaşıkçı highlighted the unifying and universal power of music. In her speech during the concert, she emphasized that music "knows no borders and speaks from heart to heart,” noting that the evening’s performance was not just about music but about expressing friendship, peace, and cultural ties between the two peoples.
The event was organized with support from the Edirne Promotion and Tourism Association.
