Drama regional unit: Three vehicle disinfection stations to operate from Monday due to sheep and goat pox outbreak

The Veterinary Department of the Drama Regional Unit has announced that starting Monday, 17 November 2025, three Vehicle Disinfection Stations will begin operating as part of efforts to contain the ongoing sheep and goat pox outbreak.

Authorities are urging strict compliance from all drivers.

Locations of the Disinfection Stations

The stations will operate at key points of the regional road network and will serve vehicles transporting fresh milk, animal feed, live animals, agricultural machinery, as well as private cars wishing to be disinfected:

Drama–Kavala National Road
– Direction toward Drama, near the DEI substation (Kefalari area).

Drama–Amfipoli National Road
– Direction toward Drama, before Mavrolefki, at the junction to Nerofraktis.

Drama–Alistrati National Road
– At the location of the Sitagroi football field.

Operating Hours

Monday to Saturday

08:30 – 16:30

The Veterinary Department requests that all owners, professionals, and non-professional drivers using the relevant vehicles stop at the stations for proper disinfection when passing through these checkpoints.
