Bulgarian delegation, Greek politicians hold meeting in Western Thrace

The delegation from Bulgaria held contacts in Western Thrace.
The Bulgarian delegation met with the president of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region Metios and Xanthi State Deputy Head Kurtidis.
The Bulgarian delegation, consisting of the Governor of Smolian city, located in the south of Bulgaria and bordering with Greece, Emil Humchev, the ruling deputy of the Bulgarian Parliament Mihal Kamberov and the Mayor of Zlatograd Miroslav Giantsev, held talks in Western Thrace on Monday, January 31.
Firstly the Bulgarian delegation visited Xanthi Province Deputy Head Kostas Kurtidis in his office and talked for a while.
During the meeting, wishes of success were conveyed to Kurtidis, who has just started to work, and the problems and cooperation opportunities between the two border cities were discussed.
It was stated that the reopening of the Thermes (Ilıca)-Zlatograd tourism crossing, which works for tourism purposes but has been closed since the pandemic period, and the highway that will connect Dimario (Demircik) and Rudozem were discussed.
Meeting with Metios
Later, the Bulgarian delegation together with the Deputy Head of Xanthi Province, Kostas Kurtidis, met the President of the Province, Christos Metios, in his office.
State President Metios and the Bulgarian delegation exchanged opinions, views on the reopening of the Thermes (Ilıca)-Zlatograd tourism crossing.
Dimario (Demircik)-Rudozem highway and tourism issues between the two countries were also discussed.
