Bad weather conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday
A deterioration in the weather is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to an Emergency Weather Deterioration Report from the National Meteorological Service, with a significant drop in temperatures (by 12 to 15 degrees on the Celsius scale), with heavy rains, storms and snowfall in the mountainous, semi-mountainous and in places in areas of the eastern mainland with lower altitudes.
Strong north-northeasterly winds reaching up to 9 Beaufort will blow in the Aegean Sea and eastern mainland from Tuesday until the evening hours of Wednesday.
More specifically,
a. Heavy rains in Thrace from the early hours of Tuesday until the afternoon of the same day.
b. Heavy rains and storms in Halkidiki, in Thessaly (mainly in the region of Magnisia), Sporades islands, Evia island and in the regions of Phthiotida and Viotia from early Tuesday afternoon until the early hours of Wednesday.
Snow:
a. From the early hours of Tuesday until the evening of the same day in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of Macedonia, Thrace and Epirus, while in Macedonia and Thrace it will snow also in lower areas.
b. From late Tuesday afternoon until the morning hours of Wednesday in the mountainous, semi-mountainous and lower altitude areas of the regions of Thessaly, Evia, Evritania, Phthiotida and Viotia.
c. On Wednesday and in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of the eastern Peloponnese and until the evening in the mountainous areas of Crete.
