Androulakis pay visit Greek schools in Istanbul
PASOK – KINAL President Nikos Androulakis, who went to Istanbul for the Theofania – Fota Festival, visited two Greek schools.
Androulakis visited Private Fener Greek High School (Grand School of the Nation) in Balat and Zografion Greek High School in Beyoğlu on Thursday, January 5th.
In his post on Twitter about the visits, Androulakis said, “Today, I visited the historical educational institutions Fener Greek High School (Patriarhiki Megali tou Genus Sholi) and Zografion High School in Istanbul, which are an integral part of the Greeks of Istanbul. It is the first priority for us that the heart of Hellenism continues to beat strongly here, and that our schools, civilization, and culture exist.”
During the school visits, Androulakis was informed by Fener Greek High School Principal Dimitris Zotos and Zografion High School Principal Yannis Demircoğlu.
“Some people struggle a lot every day and our obligation is to support teachers, school principals, and students,” Androulakis told reporters. It is the first priority for us that the heart of Hellenism continues to beat strongly here, and that our schools, civilization, and culture exist.”
“I promise that we will do everything we can to defend their efforts, to help resolve existing issues to facilitate the important work they are doing here in Istanbul,” Andrulakis said.
MEETING WITH PATRIARCH BARTHOLOMEOS
The President of PASOK – KINAL, who came to Istanbul at the invitation of the Istanbul Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew, will attend the service in the Patriarchate this morning.
Androulakis is expected to have a private meeting with Patriarch Bartholomew after the ceremony of throwing the cross into the water, which will take place in the Golden Horn.
