A snake nest found in a kindergarten in Langada, Thessaloniki
There was a viper panic in the Vasiludi Kindergarten in Langada town of Thessaloniki province. The viper in the school building caused fearful moments to the school management and children.
The incident occurred on Friday last week. The viper had been seen in the building also before.
Speaking to the OPEN channel, the deputy mayor of Langada Municipality said that as soon as the school opened, three vipers found in the area. After the snakes appeared, the fire department was called, and he said that two of the three vipers were killed and one of them was captured alive.
Langada Deputy Mayor Aleksis Patsiala stated that education in the kindergarten has been suspended since Monday, after the viper appeared in the school for the second time.
The deputy mayor said that all necessary work has been done to clean the area, snake repellents and traps have been placed.
Stating that he believes the vipers may be nesting in the school tiles, the vice president said that they are also considering moving the kindergarten for the safety of the children, on the order of the mayor.
