4 torturing border guards arrested in Athens

The Ministry of Citizen Protection announced that the beaten migrant was taken to hospital, where, after medical tests and a forensic examination, he was diagnosed with a rib fracture.
Four border guards were arrested for torture and complicity in the torture of a migrant at the Amygdaleza detention centre in the central Attica region, the Citizen Protection Ministry said on Friday.
The ministry said in a statement that an investigation was launched following the complaint of a migrant who said he was beaten by two border guards and that two others were watching.
The police Internal Affairs Service arrested them and referred them to the competent prosecutor's office for criminal proceedings.
"The beaten migrant was taken to the hospital, where, after medical tests and forensic examination, a diagnosis of rib fracture was made," the AA news report said.
