28-year-old man dies suddenly while playing basketball
A tragic incident occurred on the island of Crete, where a 28-year-old hotel employee collapsed and died suddenly while playing basketball.
According to reports from Cretalive, the young man, originally from the Philippines, was playing basketball with his colleagues at the hotel's sports facilities in the Sisi area of Lasithi on Monday, March 24, when he suddenly lost consciousness.
Eyewitnesses immediately called emergency services after he collapsed. Medical teams arrived quickly at the scene and transported him to a health center in Malia. Despite all efforts by doctors and paramedics, he could not be revived.
Following the tragic incident, the Hellenic Police (ELAS) launched an investigation to determine the cause of death and clarify all details surrounding the event.
