Greek authorities conducted a sweeping police operation on Tuesday in Attica, Thessaloniki, Arta, Larissa, Trikala, Katerini, Volos, and Laconia, targeting fuel smuggling, large-scale tax evasion, and money laundering linked to criminal networks.

The coordinated action was carried out with the support of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), the Financial Crime Unit, the Hellenic Fuel Federation, regional development directorates, and local police departments. Dozens of fuel stations and storage facilities were inspected during the operation.

Police reported the arrest of 20 suspects and the seizure of significant amounts of cash, software allegedly used to tamper with inflow-outflow monitoring systems, and quantities of smuggled fuel.
