Smart tax compliance via new app
The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) has launched myDATAapp, a mobile application poised to transform the way Greek freelancers and businesses manage their finances.
Designed for on-the-go use, the app facilitates the digital issuance and transmission of documents (invoices, delivery notes) directly to the myDATA platform, while also offering customer management tools and detailed financial analytics.
The app is available for iOS and Android users and aims to simplify tax compliance. Key features include 24/7 invoicing, statistical reporting of income and expenses, and customizable settings like language options (Greek and English) and dark mode for ease of use in low-light conditions.
Data security is ensured through multilevel safeguards, including PIN codes and biometric recognition.
Businesses must first establish accounts via AADE’s timologio web application to utilize myDATAapp.
This preparatory process involves inputting company details, setting invoice categories, and defining products or services.
Once these steps are completed, users can download myDATAapp from the App Store or Google Play, log in and immediately start issuing documents.
AADE Governor Giorgos Pitsilis praised the app, calling it “a strategic ally for businesses” that saves time and boosts productivity while facilitating voluntary compliance.
Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis added that myDATAapp represents a significant step toward combating tax evasion and promoting streamlined operations.
By offering real-time invoicing and direct communication with Greece’s tax infrastructure, myDATAapp modernizes essential processes for businesses of all sizes.
Its features not only reduce the administrative burden but also provide a complete financial overview, enabling smarter decision-making.
