He also highlighted new initiatives to protect minors from internet addiction, the introduction of a revised Road Traffic Code and energy-saving programs like “Exoikonomo 2025” aimed at reducing household energy costs.

Mitsotakis reaffirmed support for those affected by the 2023 floods in Thessaly, with additional aid payments. He outlined the successful implementation of public investment projects and forecasted a budget of 14.1 billion euros for the Public Investment Development Program in 2025.

In healthcare, he stressed the importance of hospital budget management and the DRG system for better service transparency.

Additionally, the border station upgrades at Kipi in Evros and further improvements at Greece’s major border crossings, were announced to reduce waiting times and enhance infrastructure.

Mitsotakis also spoke about energy issues, emphasizing that in January, there will be emergency support for electricity consumption for household consumers and beneficiaries of the Social Household Tariff.

“The support covers both primary and secondary residences, without income criteria and regardless of the provider, covering approximately 90% of households with variable electricity rates. The total cost of this support amounts to 20.9 million euros,” he said.

Regarding the Greek economy, the Prime Minister emphasized that 2024 recorded performances that placed Greece among the top EU countries in key indicators, such as the absorption of European funds.
