Greece’s annual inflation rate climbed to 3.1% in July 2025, up from 2.7% a year earlier, according to data released Friday by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July 2025 increased by 3.1% compared to July 2024. On a monthly basis, prices fell by 0.4% from June 2025, following a 0.7% drop during the same month last year.

For the twelve-month period from August 2024 to July 2025, the average CPI rose by 2.6% compared with the corresponding period a year earlier. This follows a 2.8% increase in the previous twelve-month cycle.

The figures come amid persistent concerns about the cost of living, with price pressures remaining above the European Central Bank’s 2% target despite recent moderation in energy and some food price
