Government Spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis announced that Greece’s average gross salary has increased to €1,342, marking a 7.2% rise compared to 2023 and a 28.3% increase since 2019, according to data from the Ergani employment system’s 2024 report.

Government Spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis announced that Greece’s average gross salary has increased to €1,342, marking a 7.2% rise compared to 2023 and a 28.3% increase since 2019, according to data from the Ergani employment system’s 2024 report.

For the first time since Ergani started publishing annual reports in 2013, the majority of employees (53.7%) now earn more than €1,000 gross per month. This is a notable increase from 46.3% in 2023 and 36.3% in 2019.

Additionally, employment rates reached 76.4%, reflecting a 1.6% increase from 2023 and 7.2% from 2019. The report also recorded 93,312 new employees in 2024, a 4.1% rise compared to 2023.

The number of workers aged 15-29 grew to 469,634 in 2024, showing a 2.6% increase (12,137 more people) from 2023 and a 15% rise (61,456 more people) from 2019.
