Fuel pass platform for gasoline opens on Holy Monday
According to the plan, the fuel pass amounts to 50 euros (60 euros for island residents) for cars and 30 euros (35 euros for islands) for motorcycles.
Eligibility criteria cover natural persons-including self-employed professionals-with an annual household income of up to 25,000 euros for single individuals and 35,000 euros for married couples, increased by 5,000 euros for each dependent child. These thresholds are estimated to cover approximately 75% of drivers.
It is noted that the fuel pass is granted to all eligible private car owners. This means that drivers using diesel-powered vehicles will benefit from double support, combining the 0.20 euros per liter diesel subsidy with the fuel pass.
Based on official data on average fuel consumption in Greece (70 liters per month), the 50-euro fuel pass corresponds to a subsidy of approximately 0.36 per liter.
