Starting August 11, new legislation will lower cash withdrawal fees across Greece, according to an amendment by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance to the draft law on the National Customs Code.

Key changes include:

Reduced charges for ATM withdrawals from bank networks.

Full removal of fees in municipalities with only one available ATM, whether bank-owned or operated by third parties.

A national fee cap of €1.50 for withdrawals from third-party ATMs elsewhere.

The reform aims to ease financial burdens on consumers and improve access to cash, particularly in remote or underserved areas.
