North Macedonian Turkish MP Murat: Exclusion of Turks is concerning

In his statement, MP Murat highlighted the exclusion of Turks from key governmental roles, saying:

"The exclusion and marginalization of Turks by official authorities in Macedonia continues in a worrying manner. Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and his coalition partners have failed to include Turkish representatives in the 24-member Cabinet, the 24 deputy ministers, the 24 state secretaries, and hundreds of top institutional positions. Furthermore, existing Turkish officials have been dismissed, and unfortunately, Turks are not being appointed to replace them.

Additionally, appointments made by the President—ranging from the Presidential Cabinet, National Security Council, Pardon Commission, Chief of General Staff, Intelligence Agency leadership, and members of the Honors and Awards Commission—have also seen no inclusion of Turkish representatives.

Despite nearly 100 days passing since the establishment of the government and the President’s assumption of office, the absence of any Turkish individuals in hundreds of high-level appointments is met with deep sadness and concern.

The direct responsibility for this lies with those who lack the competence to represent Turks, including Erdoğan Saraç, President of the Turkish Democratic Party in the 'Your Macedonia' coalition, former minister Adnan Kahil’s movement, VMRO-DPMNE Turkish MP Mehmet Caferi, VLEN’s third-region parliamentary candidate Şenel Bilal, and others involved in this movement.

These individuals and institutions must account for the votes they received from Turkish voters and cannot evade their responsibilities or the insensitivity shown toward our community. We will continue to monitor developments closely."
