Komotini-SOS: Urgent search for homeless individuals amid severe cold

Authorities in Komotini have issued an urgent announcement regarding two homeless individuals—a woman and a man—spotted in separate locations within the city. The city’s social services, in coordination with the police, are actively searching for these individuals to transfer them to a warm shelter as temperatures plummet and strong northern winds exacerbate the cold.

Reports indicate that the woman was last seen in the arcade near Hondos Center, while the man was observed near Sklavenitis, heading towards Kosmio. The municipal social service has prepared a heated space to accommodate them, but their current locations remain unknown.

An appeal has been issued to the public:

“In recent hours, we have been informed about two homeless individuals in Komotini, enduring extreme cold. The woman was last seen in the Hondos Center arcade, and the man near Sklavenitis, towards Kosmio. The Social Services of our Municipality have prepared a warm space for their accommodation. However, we have not been able to locate them yet. The Police are also involved in the search. If anyone sees them in a specific location, please inform us immediately so we can act promptly.”

Residents are urged to assist in locating these individuals to ensure their safety amid the freezing conditions.
