The Floating LNG Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) is reportedly ready to depart from Keppel Shipyard in Singapore for delivery to the port of Alexandroupoli.
The specially configured Gastrade tanker is scheduled to arrive in Alexandroupoli in December.
Meanwhile, it was stated that the 288-metre-long LNG carrier will be located southwest of Alexandroupoli Port, approximately 18 kilometres off the coast.
After the trial operations, it is estimated that the FSRU will start normal operation at the beginning of next year.
The 135,000 cubic metre capacity Floating LNG Storage and Gasification Unit will be connected to Greece's National Natural Gas Transmission System via a 28 km pipeline and will supply gasified LNG to the Greek and Bulgarian markets, as well as the wider region of Romania, Serbia, North Macedonia and Ukraine.
