Funding secured for road leading to stadium in Ketenlik

Funding has been secured for the construction of the peripheral road in the settlement of Ketenlik, which leads to the local stadium, following a visit by the Secretary General for Infrastructure, Mr. Dimitris Anagnopoulos, to the Municipality of Mustafçova.

During the visit, Mr. Anagnopoulos met with the Mayor of Mustafçova, Mr. Ahmet Kurt, in the presence of the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Mr. Christodoulos Topsidis.

In statements to residents, the regional governor announced that “the opening of the vertical axis will move forward from the beginning of the new year,” referring to the road connecting Dimario to the Greek–Bulgarian border.

Mr. Topsidis stated that the meeting focused on an in-depth discussion of the municipality’s key issues and the joint prioritization of its most urgent needs. He emphasized that the Secretary General officially confirmed the funding for the Ketenlik peripheral road, describing it as a project of major importance for the area.

The delegation later visited the vertical road axis from Dimario toward the Greek–Bulgarian border, where they listened firsthand to residents’ concerns. Authorities assured locals that construction work on the axis would begin in early 2026 and committed to improving access to nearby agricultural land.
