Bulgaria's oldest woman dies

According to the news of Bulgaria Dnes, 110-year-old Nuriye Dermencieva from Srednogortsi village of Smolyan district, the oldest woman in Bulgaria, passed away on January 12.
Relatives of the centenarian grandmother reported that the woman died peacefully in her sleep with her two daughters.
Nuriye grandmother, who was born on October 12, 1912, became a real record holder in Bulgaria with her 110 years old.
The wife of the eldest son of the old woman, Ramadan, Mümüne told the newspaper, “We are very sorry, we missed her very much. Nuriye was a very good and beautiful person. I am her eldest bride and have only received favors from her. She helped us a lot in raising children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nuriye was able to take care of herself for a long time and did not give up.”
Nuriye grew up in Madan's Dibovo Neighborhood with many brothers and sisters. She got married at the age of 16, her husband Recep was only 13 at the time. The young bride waited for her husband to come of age and gave birth to the first of 6 children in total. She raised her children almost alone. Her husband passed away when she was only 36 years old. Nuriye has 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
