Trabzonspor not to play in European competitions for 1 year

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed Thursday that it had rejected a plea against the UEFA's decision to ban Trabzonspor from participating in European competitions for a year.

The Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) imposed the sanction after it determined that Trabzonspor failed to meet the target fixed for the 2019 financial year, the CAS said in a statement.

"The sanction would not take effect if the club fulfilled certain conditions, including meeting a target with respect to its financial results for the 2019 financial year," the sports court added.

With this decision, Trabzonspor will not play in the European competitions for one year.
