Laporte scores winning goal as Manchester City beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in Sunday's historic final
Making history, Manchester City captured the 2021 English Football League (EFL) Cup with a 1-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's final.
French central defender Aymeric Laporte scored a header from Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne’s free kick in the 82nd minute to make Man City the League Cup victors at Wembley Stadium.
This marks the eighth time Man City has won the Carabao Cup – the sponsor’s name for the English Football League Cup – drawing even with previous record holders Liverpool.
It was also the fourth consecutive year Man City has captured the crown.
