Young teacher Ayşe İsmailko laid to rest amid tears

Ayşe İsmailko, a 34-year-old teacher and mother of a 6-month-old baby, was tragically killed in a traffic accident on the morning of November 15, near Xanthi's Dolaphan road. Her funeral in Mizanlı village on November 16 witnessed a large turnout of mourners, reflecting the deep sorrow felt by the community.

Ayşe, the daughter of Sami İsmailko, a former imam of Ketenlik Aşağı Mahalle Mosque, and sister to theologian and imam Sinan İsmailko, had graduated as a primary school teacher in Turkey. Like many Western Thrace Turks who graduate in Turkey, she was unable to practice her profession in Greece.

The funeral began with Quran recitations and prayers at her home, followed by heartfelt words from Xanthi Mufti Mustafa Trampa, who led the funeral prayer. Officials, including local politicians and Türkiy’s Consulate representative, offered condolences to the grieving family.

In his message, Mufti Trampa prayed for Ayşe’s soul, expressing sympathy for her family and community.

Millet Gazetesi extends its condolences to Ayşe’s loved ones, praying for her peace and her family’s strength during this difficult time.
