Young people from Western Thrace meet at the Youth Day in Nature
The Young Academics Community (GAT), which operates under the umbrella of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (WTMUGA), organised a "Youth Day in Nature" event in Çepelli village of Yassıköy Municipality.
GAT President Emre Kamil made a speech indicating the meaning and importance of the day at the event organised by the tea in Çepelli village. Afterwards, Burak Adil, Secretary General of WTMUGA and member of the board of directors responsible for GAT, took the floor. GAT Thessaloniki President Azra Hasan, GAT Thessaloniki board members Hilmi Eren Sait and Emir Mehmet made speeches about 19 May Youth and Sports Day and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk under the moderation of Burak Adil.
The Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, spoke about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's achievements at a young age and noted that he was an example for young people.
After the speeches, meatballs were served to the participants. "Youth Festival in Nature" continued with the concert of "Restore", one of the local music groups.
The event was attended by the President of the Friendship Equality Peace Party Çiğdem Asafoğlu and FEP Party MEP candidates, Rodopi New Left MP Özgür Ferhat, Mayor of Yassıköy Caner Imam, President of Komotini Turkish Youth Union Sedat Hasan, President of the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union Aydın Ahmet, President of BAKEŞ Hüseyin Bostancı, members of the Youth Branch of Xanthi Turkish Union and many cognates.
