Yassıköy team becomes champion in Rhodope Amateur League B category

Yassıköy (Megas Aleksadro Iasmo) team, which competed in category B of the Rhodope Amateur League in the 2023-2024 football season, completed the season as champion.

Yassıköy football team played its last match of the season on Sunday 28 April 2024 in front of its home and audience. The leader, who hosted Kalanca team, defeated its opponent 3-0 and completed the season with a victory and champion.

After the referee finished the match, a ceremony was organised on the field to give the champion team the cup and the medals to the players.

The trophy ceremony was attended by the President of the Union of Clubs of Rhodope (EPS Thrakis) Manos Gavrilidis and members of the board of directors, New Left Party Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat, who is from Yassıköy, Rıdvan Hacı Mehmet, Deputy President of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Province for Agriculture and Livestock, Rıdvan Molla Isa, State Assembly Member Ahmet Osman Pehlivan, Yassıköy Mayor Caner Imam, Yassıköy Deputy Mayors Kubilay Manko and Mehmet Arif, Yassıköy Municipality main opposition leader Mehmet Mehmet, council members Salim Hüseyin and Latif Halil, Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt attended.

The football players of the champion team passed through the ceremony one by one, accepted the congratulations and received their championship medals.

Finally, the championship cup was given to the team captain. The happiness of the football players who received the trophy during the championship celebrations in the field was worth seeing.

Yassıköy team, who finished as champion in category B, will compete in category A next season. Similarly, the Harmanlik Neighbourhood team, which finished second in the B category, will compete in the higher category next season.
