Yassıköy Municipality’s plastic cap initiative supports students and disability aid efforts
Mayor Caner Imam and Municipal Council President Nikolaos Giatsos visited the Gümülcine Private Middle and High School in the village of Melikli on March 18, where they handed over a significant event of plastic caps collected with the contribution of local residents.
Community Effort for Social Good
The caps were gathered at a designated collection point established by the municipality, with strong participation from the local community. Officials noted that the initiative quickly gained momentum, reflecting high levels of civic awareness and engagement.
The collected materials will be used by a student-led social responsibility project to help fund the provision of wheelchairs for individuals with disabilities—an effort that combines environmental awareness with tangible social impact.
Education and Solidarity
