Yassıköy Municipality marks Mother’s Day with women empowerment event in Rhodope
The event was held at the former community building in Bulatköy village and focused on raising awareness about women’s social roles, empowerment, and mental well-being.
As part of the program, psychologist Şerike Şerif delivered a talk titled “Being a Woman, Being Strong,” highlighting the challenges women face in social life and their contributions across different areas of society.
The discussion emphasized psychological resilience, gender roles, and the importance of community-based support systems for women in rural regions of the Rhodope.
The event was attended by Yassıköy Mayor Caner İmam, cultural and equality advisor Sibel Haciali, and Orfeas Center board president Sibel Mustafaoğlu, who all expressed support for initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s role in society.
Participants showed strong interest in the program, which was designed to promote awareness and encourage social solidarity among women in the region.
