Xanthi Minority High School graduates 101 students

Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School gave 101 graduates in the 2023-2024 academic year. A magnificent graduation ceremony was organised for the graduates.
Xanthi Minority High School graduates 101 students

The graduation ceremony organised by the Xanthi Minority Secondary and High School Parents' Association for 101 students who graduated from the school, which gave its 59th graduates this year, took place on Friday, 14 June 2024 at the Apollon wedding hall.

At the opening of the programme, Kaan Ahmetoğlu, who lost his life last summer, was not forgotten by his classmates and schoolmates. Mülayim Mülayimoğlu made a speech on behalf of Kaan's school mates. After the speech, a minute of silence was held for Kaan who passed away.

ATTENTION WAS DRAWN TO THE MASSACRE IN PALESTINE

Graduating students drew attention to the massacre in Palestine and their statements and support for Palestine with the panels they prepared were highly appreciated.

In the opening speeches, Cemalettin Efendi, President of the Parent-Teacher Association, Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Council, Selçuk Fehmi, Principal of the school, Hüseyin Zeybek, New Left Xanthi MP, Ahmet Kurt, Mayor of Mustafçova, Dr Hüseyin Baltacı, President of WTMUGA, Çiğdem Asafoğlu, President of the FEP Party and Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi made short welcoming speeches.

Afterwards, the ceremony continued with a music concert.

The school's music teacher Mehmet Mustafa (Violin), graduating students Burak Kabza (Guitar-Vocal) and Furkan Karahüseyin (Vocal), and Mehmet Ege Mümin (Baglama-Vocal), a 2nd year secondary school student, mesmerised the audience with their performance. Then the folk dances team presented a short performance.

Students received their diplomas from the hands of their teachers.

TEACHERS NOT FORGOTTEN

The school teachers who attended the ceremony were not forgotten by the PTA. All teachers who attended the ceremony were invited to the stage. The PTA presented flowers to each teacher separately and thanked them. Afterwards, a souvenir photo was taken together.

PLAQUES WERE PRESENTED TO THE RANKING STUDENTS

Plaques were presented to the students who graduated with honours.

Burak Kabza and Süeda Kara Kehaya, who shared the third prize, received their plaques from Ozan Ahmetoğlu, Chairman of the Council of Councillors.

Zehra Veli, the school runner-up, received her plaque from Cemalettin Efendi, the President of the Parent-Teacher Association, while Melek Kehaya received the first prize from the school principal Selçuk Fehmi.

SCHOOL VALEDICTORIAN MADE A SPEECH

Melek Kehaya, who graduated from Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School with the first rank, made a speech on behalf of her friends.

In the last part, as 101 students who graduated from the school this year threw their caps into the air with the countdown, fireworks exploded and colourful images appeared in the sky.

HALL IS CRAMMED

101 students graduated from the ceremony and the participants did not fit in the hall. Parents and relatives of the students, especially those who filled the hall, experienced moments full of emotion and pride.

101 students graduated and the ceremony was attended by school teachers, school principal Selçuk Fehmi, Chairman of the Board of Councillors Ozan Ahmetoğlu and members of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association Cemalettin Efendi and members of the Association, Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa, New Left Xanthi MP Hüseyin Zeybek, FEP Party President Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Mayor of Mustafçova Ahmet Kurt, President of WTMUGA Dr. Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Association of Western Thrace Minority Schools Councillors Mehmet Duban, Advisor to the State President of the DMT Salih Yörük and parents of the students attended.
