Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (WTMUGA) issued a written statement regarding the contacts of the members of the Miracle Theatre in Ankara.

In its statement, the association thanked the institutions and organisations that hosted them during their contacts in Ankara.

The statement made by WTMUGA on the subject is as follows:

"Mucize Theatre, which operates under the umbrella of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, set off to perform the play "The Madman of the Neighbouring Village" within the framework of cooperation with Ankara State Theatres.

During the 3-day trip to Ankara, which included artistic, cultural and historical aspects, many visits and activities were carried out.

On 3 January Wednesday, the team arrived in Ankara and was served a meal by the President of Balkan Foundation Hıfzı Kuruş and the members of the board of directors. TIKA Vice President Mahmut Çevik did not leave our young actors alone at the dinner. The programme continued with a visit to Aqua Vega Aquarium and then went to Başkent Teacher's House.

On 4 January Thursday, WTMUGA President Dr. Hüseyin Baltacı, Xanthi Cultural Centre Officer Sevtap Hint and Miracle Theatre Officer Senemahu Topuz were hosted by Ambassador Burak Özügergin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Afterwards, the whole team visited ANITKABIR accompanied by a guide and stood in the presence of the ancestor. Afterwards, they went to the Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and visited YTB President Abdullah Eren. The President, who was interested in our young actors one-to-one, hosted them with dinner after the surprise gift to our young people. The team ended the day with a bird's eye view of Ankara at Atakule.

On Friday 5 January, our young actors had the opportunity to meet and chat with Tamer Karadağlı, General Director of State Theatres. Tamer Karadağlı, who gave a seminar lecture for more than an hour, promised to watch our children in the next play.

After the visit, our young actors went to Ankara State Theatres 75th Year stage where the play will be staged and prepared for the show.

Prof. Dr. Üstün Dökmen's play "THE Lunatic of the Neighbouring Village" written by Prof. Dr. Üstün Dökmen, adapted and directed by Senemahu Topuz and coordinated by Sevtap Hint took the stage. In addition to the people of Ankara, YTB President Abdullah Eren and his wife Elif Eren, TIKA Vice President Mahmut Çevik, Altındağ District Governor Cumali Atilla, Balkan Foundation President Hıfzı Kuruşa and board members, BTTDD President Hasan Küçük, BTTDD Women's Branch President Nalan Hacıdeli and board members, BATÖB student representative Furkan Nizam and West Thracian students, former Consul General of Komotini Murat Ömeroğlu and his wife, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and many art lovers attended.

They gave a standing ovation to the Miracle actors, showered our young people with flowers and invited them for the next play.

On Saturday 6 January, after the visit to the Museum of Civilisations and Ankara Castle organised by YTB, the team started their way back. We would like to extend our endless thanks to Aykut Ünal, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Komotini, Sabri Hacıibram, Yiğit Bener Avcı, Serkan Hatip, our supporting parents, all the institutions that organised the trip and embraced us, and the people of Ankara."
