Work has started for the Historical Alantepe Events
Kozlukebir Municipality has started preparations for Alantepe Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events, a long-established tradition of Western Thrace Turks. The historical Alantepe Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events, which date back seven centuries, will take place this year.
Preparations for the cultural events organised by Kozlukebir Municipality have started. The municipality started cleaning works in and around the area where the events are held every year. The dried grasses were mowed, the brushwood and similar surpluses were collected and the area was cleaned with mowers in and around the area. The cut dry grasses were removed from the area and the surrounding area and irrigation works were started for the grass to grow again.
Kozlukebir Mayor Erdem Hüseyin said in his post about the works carried out for the historical Alantepe Events; "Preparations have started in the region for the Alantepe Oil Wrestling, which is traditionally organised every year."
