Women’s religious outreach team holds Mawlid program at Mastanli Mosque
The Women’s Religious Outreach Team of the Gümülcine Mufti’s Office organized a Mawlid program at Mastanli Mosque to mark Mawlid al-Nabi, the occasion commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
The event was held on Monday, August 24, under the coordination of the team’s adult women’s activities.
Quran recitation and religious program
The program opened with welcoming remarks by Nafiye Karaali, a religious instructor and Quran course teacher.
Karaali described Mawlid al-Nabi as an important occasion for Muslims to remember the birth of Prophet Muhammad and emphasized the importance of reflecting his moral values and understanding of worship in everyday life.
As part of the program, Quran course participants recited verses from the Quran, the birth section of the Mawlid, religious hymns, poems, hadiths and short Quranic chapters.
The program concluded with a prayer led by Hacer Karaali, a religious instructor and Quran course teacher.
The prayer included a supplication for the acceptance of a Quran recitation dedicated to Celile Hanım, the wife of Gümülcine Mufti İbrahim Şerif, as well as prayers for the acceptance of participants’ supplications.
Rose sherbet served to congregation
Following the Mawlid program, members of the congregation were served rose sherbet and various refreshments.
Balloons and sweets were also distributed to children attending the event.
The gathering provided members of the community with an opportunity to observe Mawlid al-Nabi together and participate in a religious and community-centered program.
