Western Thrace women in Izmit host earthquake victims

Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association Izmit Branch Women's Branch management hosted earthquake survivors who were guests in Izmit as part of the 8 March International Women's Day events.

Within the scope of the International Women's Day, which is celebrated with various activities on March 8 every year, the management of the Izmit Branch of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association carried out a meaningful event.

According to the news in the Özgür Kocaeli newspaper, Western Thrace Women hosted the earthquake survivors who came from the earthquake zone and stayed with their relatives in Izmit in the association building located on Adnan Menderes Boulevard in the Yenişehir District of Izmit.

In her speech at the event, Kadriye Yılmaz, Head of BTTDD Izmit Women's Branch, stated that the earthquake victims' siblings are always with them. “We, as the women's branches of the Izmit Branch of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association, wanted to celebrate 8 March International Women's Day with you this year. We were all very saddened by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş that caused great impact and destruction in more than 10 provinces. Today, we decided to hold the event in order to make you smile a little and have a good time.” she spoke.

Kadriye Yılmaz continued as follows: “The reason why we chose heart boxes for the gifts we prepared is that, as Western Thrace women, our hearts are with you.

I congratulate each and every one of you on March 8, International Women's Day, with my sincere wishes. I wish God's mercy on all our citizens who passed away due to earthquakes, a speedy recovery to the injured, and my condolences to our beloved nation.
