Western Thrace Turks gather for Ramadan Iftar in Homburg
Members of the Western Thrace Turkish community came together for a Ramadan iftar in Homburg, Germany, on March 8. The event was organized by the Homburg and Surroundings Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association, a member organization of the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF).
The iftar dinner was held at the social hall of the DITIB Homburg Fatih Mosque Association and brought together members of the local Western Thrace Turkish community living in Homburg and nearby areas.
Community Leaders and Members Attend
Among those attending the gathering was Yakup Salih, Vice President of the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe. The event was also attended by board members and members of the host association, as well as religious officials and administrators of the DITIB Homburg Fatih Mosque.
The gathering provided an opportunity for members of the diaspora community to meet, strengthen social ties, and share the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan.
Women Honored on International Women’s Day
During the event, association officials presented roses to women attending the iftar in celebration of International Women's Day, marked annually on March 8.
Following the recitation of the evening call to prayer, participants broke their fast together with a prayer and shared the iftar meal.
Community representatives noted that such events help preserve cultural identity and strengthen solidarity among Western Thrace Turks living in Europe.
