Visit to Western Thrace from CHP delegation
Within the scope of the Western Thrace visit, the first stop of the delegation was the Elected Mufti of Komotini. The delegation met with the Chairman of the Advisory Board and the Elected Mufti of Komotini, İbrahim Şerif, and then moved to Xanthi.
CHP Deputy Chairman and Balıkesir Deputy Ahmet Akın, Tekirdağ Deputy İlhami Özcan Aygün, Avcılar Mayor Turan Hançerli and their entourage accompanied the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD) İzmir Branch President Durmuş Mümin.
The first stop of the delegation in Xanthi was the grave of the late Ahmet Mete, who died last year. After visiting the grave, the delegation went to the Mufti Officcee of Xanthi, where they met with the Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa.
After the Mufti visit, the delegation chatted with the shopkeepers in Xanthi and finally visited the Xanthi Turkish Union.
Ozan Ahmetoğlu, the President of Xanthi Turkish Uninon welcomed the Turkish delegation,gave information about the work carried out by the ITB in his speech. Ahmetoğlu also conveyed the legal struggle of the ITB for 40 years.
Speaking on behalf of the CHP delegation, Deputy Chairman and Balıkesir Deputy Ahmet Akın stated that Türkiye always stands by its kinsmen. Saying that they closely follow the work carried out by the ITB, Akın said that the struggle is very valuable.
After the Xanthi contacts, the delegation moved back to Komotini.
The CHP delegation, who first visited the Friendship, Equality and Peace (FEP) Party in Komotini, received information about the party's work from the Chairman Çiğdem Asafoğlu and the executives.
After the FEP Party, the delegation visited the Komotini Turkish Youth Union (GTGB) and met with President Sedat Hasan and the managers.
After the GTGB visit, the CHP delegation went to the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union (BTTÖB), where they met with BTTOB President Aydın Ahmet and the administrators and got information about the work done.
As part of their contacts with Western Thrace, the CHP delegation finally visited the grave of the late Dr.Sadik Ahmet. After the visit to the grave, the delegation, which completed its contacts, left Western Thrace.
