Vice-President of Xanthi Kurtidis hands over the office

Kostas Kurtidis, Vice-President of Xanthi, handed over the office with a ceremony held on Friday 29 December.

The outgoing Vice-President of Xanthi Kourtidis handed over the keys of the provincial building in Xanthi to the new Vice-President of Xanthi, Dr. Polikseni Brika, after giving her detailed information on all matters.  

"I believe you will succeed"

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Vice-President of Xanthi Kostas Kurtidis said that he was confident that his predecessor would fulfil the task he would undertake and that he would be successful.  

Kourtidis drew attention to the following points in his statements:

"Today is the 29th of December, the last working day and together with my colleague Mrs. Brika, the new Deputy Prefect of Xanthi, we held a handover ceremony. The ceremony was not official but it was important for all of us. I am proud to tell you this.

I informed her about current issues, our addresses, our programmes and the Xanthi Regional Unit. Mrs .Brika is a talented doctor, a talented politician and will continue as the next Vice-President of the Region.

I believe and I am sure that it will be absolutely successful. On my own behalf, I would like to thank the authorities for their cooperation, the media for their information and assistance, as well as the people of Xanthi for their love for the Region and I would like to say that I will continue to work for the good of the Region, for Xanthi, which I serve with great honour and love, and for the good of our people."

Dr. Brika, the new Vice-President of Xanthi, said: "I would like to thank the people of Xanthi for bringing me here.

I thank our group leader for entrusting me with this task.

I'm very eager to succeed.

I would like to thank Mr. Kourtidis very much for the information, which is really important for me today.

Finally, I would like to thank in advance everyone who will help me and everyone sitting in this chair. I wish a "good new year" for all of us."

After the speeches, Kurtidis presented Dr. Brika with the key to the Xanthi Prefecture building.

Mrs Brika will take office as Vice-President of Xanthi on 1 January 2024.
